Puppet Show Teaches Kids about Prepardness

Recently, the Columbus Red Cross hosted a puppet show. Through this show, volunteers taught small children how to be prepared for disasters.

These puppets were a favorite with kids!

This puppet show was part of the Community Disaster Education Program for youth.

The Community Disaster Education Program for youth teaches students from classes, health fairs, and after-school programs a variety of preparedness topics. These topics are aimed at school-agers in groups of any size.

In addition to the puppet show, topics covered include:

•Hand Washing- Stop the spread of the flu this year! “Don’t get sick, wash up quick!”
•Emergency Preparedness Kit- Get a kit. Make a plan. Be informed.
•Masters of Disaster- Curriculum for education on Fire Safety, Tornados, Floods, and others.
