The American Red Cross partnered with Delaware County firefighters in a “flash mob” to kickoff Fire Prevention week. This kickoff occurred Friday evening October 4. Fire prevention week lasted from October 6 through October 12 this year.
Chief John Donahue led more than 200 people singing and dancing to showcase the importance of Red Cross CPR training-in time with the song “Stayin’ Alive.” 200 Red Cross stickers were placed on the back of each shirt of flash mob participants.
Crowds packed the street to see the demonstrations. Throughout this event, Delaware volunteers distributed first aid kits and shared fire safety information
Even though this event has passed, preventing fires is still crucial. Please join our firemen by being prepared, www.redcross.org/takeaclass
