Along with providing services for disasters; conducting blood drives; services to the military; and many other activities, the American Red Cross offers many classes. These classes are both both fun and educational. Each year, an average of more than 9 million people take these classes. Some of these classes include First Aid, CPR, and AED.
Along with the basics, there are many other classes offered which you may not have been aware. Here is a list of some interesting upcoming classes in the Columbus region.
1. Bloodborne Pathogens Training– This course teaches how bloodborne pathogens are spread, how to avoid exposure, and what to do if exposed to infectous material. This course is designed for those who are at risk for on the job exposure to blood in the workplace. Those who complete the training receive a certificate valid for one year.
2. Babysitting Basics– Designed for kids and young adults, ages 11 and up, this course prepares students to be better baby sitters. Some topics covered include how to provide care for infants and children; what to do in an emergency; and how to recognize and handle a variety of behaviors. This course is taught online. At the end of the course, there is a test. After the test, a printable certificate is awarded.
3. Bloodborne Pathogens for Tatoo Artists– Similar to the the Bloodborne Pathogens training, but for tatoo artists.
