Here, There, and Everywhere: Red Crosser Supports Mission in Creative Ways

Peter Conrad: CTP Specialist by day, celebrity by night.

The group that shook the world and rocked a generation leaves a legacy of philanthropy through the summer event “Abbey Road on the River.” The event takes place annually over Labor Day Weekend in National Harbor, Washington, DC. The festival celebrates all things Beatles, while donating  proceeds to the American Red Cross.

The event features groups from all over the world; including bands from Puerto Rico, Tilburg, the Netherlands and even right here in Central Ohio. Our very own Peter Conrad, Community Transportation Specialist, will be featured as both a solo artist and a member of tribute band the “Travelling Beatlburys.” The event website describes Peter as, “A veteran of every Abbey Road on the River there ever was!” As a solo artist, Peter mainly covers George Harrison songs. As a member of the “Traveling Beatleburys,” Peter and his friends cover songs by the “Traveling Willburys,” a later project of Beatle George Harrison, as well as other classic giants like Bob Dylan and Roy Orbison.

We couldn’t be more proud of our very own Beatle and his constant support of the American Red Cross!

  1. I am proud to be a longtime Red Cross blood donor, a Red Cross financial donor, and a longtime fan of Peter Conrad and the Traveling Beatleburys. Peter is a great musician and a great guy. I encourage everyone to try to see one of his shows, solo or with any of his many bands. If you can, go see him at Abbey Road on the River, and see scores of other great bands, too.
