Safety tips for your furry friend

Take a look at this dog.

This is my puppy Fred. He is the best part of my day, every day. If something were to happen to him, I’m not sure what I would do. I know that many of the 77.5 million dog owners and 93.6 million cat owners in America feel the same way about their pets. Pets are members of the family. When you are considering your family’s plan for disaster and emergency, remember to remember your pet!

April is Pet First Aid Month and we at the Red Cross encourage you to take the time to think about what you would do if your pet were injured or caught in a disaster situation. Here are some resources. Consider the unconditional love your pets give you daily, and make the necessary provisions to ensure their health and safety.

Red Cross offers Pet First Aid and CPR classes. You can find out more information about keeping your pets safe at our website.
