Each day thousands of AmeriCorps members are making a difference in your community, including the members at the American Red Cross. We devote ourselves to a year of service to help strengthen our communities, out of a deep commitment to service and to our country. At the American Red Cross of Greater Columbus we have 22 AmeriCorps members helping to prepare central Ohio for disasters.
May 8th-15th is the fourth annual AmeriCorps week. During this time AmeriCorps members across the country will be engaged in service projects to help their communities. We will be spotlighting the program through several blog posts from our AmeriCorps members, pictures and tweets throughout the week. We have plans to travel throughout the state to make a difference doing the following service activities:
- Painting the basement of the Red Cross in Stark County
- Supplying and cooking a luncheon at the Ronald McDonald House in Cincinnati
- Organizing clothes and painting A Friends House, a shelter for those suffering domestic violence in Madison County
- Cleaning and mulching at the Barack Rec Center in Columbus
